I had come across this a while back and I knew I had seen this somewhere and I just had to write about it. I’m referring to these similarities I had seen in both Peru and Mexico regarding this blue being. So here’s a bit of background info:
Huaca Garagay (Peru)
This first one is located in Lima, Peru in a district called San Martin de Porres. The place is called Huaca (or Waka) Garagay. Not entirely sure why its called Garagay I’ve been trying to dig into more info as to why it was named like that but I haven’t found anything.
Its around 4000 years old according to archeologists and also has some resemblance to the Chavin culture in Caral.
Mayan Deity Chaac (Mexico)
This second one is even more interesting to me, since there’s more information available. It is located in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. The being we are talking about is a deity named Chaac.
So now that we know more lets go a bit deep into this.
Similarities
I think the resemblance is obvious and the reader can catch on pretty quick. As we can see the first similarity I see is the 3 “teeth”, or what seems to be like teeth. We also have the long nose or snout. We also have the blue coloring of what the “skin” would be. And last then we have the collar shows from different sides on these images.
Other images
Here are other pictures, all of the Deity Chaac because luckily more of them are found in the Madrid Codex. Unfortunaly we only have that image of the pre-incan being in Caral. Other ruins or images haven’t been found at the moment, at least not that I know of.
How about this?
This feline is also found in the Garagay Waka site. Now, don’t take me wrong, there are felines in Peru like in the Andes the Puma. Though this feline here doesn’t resemble one. I would say that it resembles a leopard more which is found in the Amazon Jungle. However I cant escape the fact that it also looks like a jaguar, and if there is something about Mayan ancient beliefs is that Jaguars are highly important. Just thought I put that in there.
Thoughts:
Ii cant help but wonder if this being or deity visited or was present in pre incan history.
